Finally, we have arrived in Copenhagen and are settling in on our boat hotel. (There are so many people at the conference, the city is filled to capacity, so they rented boats. Apparently Greenpeace has one too, but we haven’t seen it yet.)
Two quick notes about the flight:
1) British Airways is amazing (a choice of a full course meal with wine, comfortable chairs and British accents)
2) Either all of Europe is putting on an environmentally friendly front, or they really do care about going green. (I’m putting my money on a combination of both.) Even in Heathrow, but much more in Copenhagen, there were huge billboards advertising eco-friendly cars, recycling and reducing emissions. Even the napkin I got with my airport meal admonished me to recycle it!
So here we are, safe and sound. Tomorrow we’ll register for the conference and attend a couple of lectures. Hopefully everything will go smoothly; there are so many people attending that there are rumors that some people are not allowed to register. But that’s a worry for another day.
